Energietechnik Healthy Power for life

Renewable energies play a crucial role in the further development of the whole planet. And electronics can contribute a lot to the easier and efficient use of those energies.

Despite increasing efficient electronics solutions the demand for energy is steadily increasing as well. At the same time the most important energy sources get more and more questioned. Not only since Fukushima, the use of atomic power is seen very critical in many parts of the world. Italy already is without atomic energy while Germany, Belgium and Switzerland have announced their withdrawal from this technology. But also coal and gas are not very popular because of their high CO2 emissions. That sets all hopes on the renewable energies. Whether it is solar, wind, water or geothermal power: They are not only available infinitely, but also largely safe for the environment. However, their use is not entirely without problems. The supply of volatile energy sources for example is a great challenge for the classic grids. This is why the so much talked about Smart Grid is needed. New Zealand has followed up those words with deeds and implemented a Smart Grid, using simulation tools from MathWorks. Another problem child in the renewable energy sector is solar technology. Here the market, especially in Europe, suffered setbacks in recent years. LPKF's Laser technology is designed to help produce high-power thin-layer solar modules and thus putting more efficient and affordable solar modules to the market.
